Location: Doraville, GA

Today, Rep. Lucy McBath joined Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Doraville Mayor Joseph Geierman, and leaders from the Center for Pan Asian Community Services for a visit to the site of a new pedestrian safety project on Buford Highway that broke ground last month. McBath delivered remarks on the Biden Administration's historic investments into safety, efficiency, and equity, as well as the work she has already done to bring infrastructure upgrades to Georgia's 6th District.

"We have an opportunity right now to invest in American infrastructure: roads that make it quicker and safer to get to work; walkways that make it safer for pedestrians and cars alike; and access to transportation that makes it easier and more equitable for everyone to get where they need to go," McBath stated at the event. "At its very core, these projects are about safety, about efficiency, and about connectivity - connecting the people and places we love, connecting companies and consumers, and connecting Americans to America."

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal is an historic investment into projects including roads, bridges, airports, and waterways, in addition to investments in clean water, the power grid, and high-speed Internet access. McBath continues to fight for plans that ensure local businesses have the access to the materials and talent they need to grow, that make transportation safer, faster, and that make our infrastructure more resilient and sustainable.
